FAMILY - THE DUNLAPS
When I married Linda she had told me she had a big family but I never really knew how big until I went to California the first time to vist everyone!!
I can't even begin to take on the task of trying to go through everyone here. This family is so massive it boggles the mind!! However...I did make this video slide show below for Marge my Mother in Law, in blue, in front of her 90th birthday cake, and I'd say she is responsible for most of this! I love my family out west each and every one of you!

Linda was born in Covelo California to Marge and Milton Dunlap. A bit tomboy and cowgirl and Indian, she lived there for the first part of her life until she was old enough to spread her wings and fly out of round valley to Colorado. That is where I first met her and when I did I was smitten.

Linda studied at Alvin Ailey American Dance School in NYC as well as Martha Graham School of Dance and with Alwin Nickoli Murray Lewis, Hanna Holmes and many other well known artists, dancers and choreographers. She has worked with many different companies and choreographed hundreds of dances in her life. She has also choreographed and danced for theatre and musicals as well as donating a lot of her time to work with the Jr. Miss program in support of the young woman's higher education and excellence programs. She has always been modest about her work and chooses not to allow me to show too much here but I had to at least let everyone know what an amazing gifted woman she is and that her work has touched so many people around the world and they have all been touched by her brilliant light! She spends much of her time teaching young woman the art of dance and still works on choreography and the creative arts on her own and with me as well. The other thing, besides her gardens that she has nurtured her whole life is our little family we have together. Budget Loca, Magic, Uno, Lilly and Puff Kitty.
Our home is so beautiful because Linda has this amazing green thumb. I saw her throw a stick into the back yard because she said she would plant it later. That twig rooted itself, stood straight up and we watched it grow into a tree that now towers over our house. She has a love of growing things and everything she touches flourishes because everything she plants with she waters and nurtures with love.
And the same thing happens when Linda teaches dance or works on a dance project or works with children or any project. She fills the room with her light and love and giving that always makes every ones spirit blossom like flowers. She has such a rare gift to inspire others and she always puts others needs before her own.
In 1994 Linda started the FIRST NANTUCKET DANCE FESTIVAL. She brought amazing modern and jazz dancers from Colorado and New York City to the island and worked with her own students who did performances at the festival. For three years she worked tirelessly not only choreographing her own company and performing but producing and directing the entire festival on her own for three years.
Linda has always given her time to causes she believes in and for many years she donated her time to the Junior Miss Program to help choreograph and work with the girls in every show.
She has also choreographed shows at the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket and for the theatre at the Nantucket High School as well as directing the last production of Little Shop of Horrors.
